My name is Michelle.

I'm a Software Engineer, focusing on back-end services and databases.

I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math and Statistics at the University of Toronto.

I currently work at Wealthsimple. Previously, I completed three internships at Scotiabank — Fall 2023 🍂 and Winter 2024 ❄️ with the API Engineering team, and Summer 2024 🌞 working on in-house HR applications.

In my free time, I enjoy weightlifting, rock-climbing, boxing, exploring fitness studios around the city, trying out new restaurants, sipping overpriced lattes, and spending time with friends.

I also love reading and traveling.

I find joy in making a positive impact on people’s lives!

I love using my skills to build cool and interesting products that make people’s lives easier.

I am doing research on Human Computer Interaction and exploring ways to make CS education better for everyone.

I am also on K8s release team starting from 1.32 release!

Bio

I grew up in Soc Trang, a small rural city in Southern Vietnam, where I discovered my passion for programming by learning Pascal at a young age. At 18, I embarked on a journey that took me 14,000 kilometers from home to Canada to study Computer Programming and Analysis at Seneca College. Later, I transferred to the University of Toronto to pursue my bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics. After years of studying and working in Toronto—one of the world's most diverse and multicultural cities—I now proudly call it my home.
